Dave and Carol – Bolton Abbey recce
Our next walk is an easy one at Bolton Abbey, with two ups, both before lunch, for a total of about 500ft all day. There are no stiles, and with good paths there isn’t any mud either. The views, including Bolton Priory ruins, are breathtaking.
Running the entire length of our walk we follow the River Wharfe with dramatic landscapes, and on the way back we pass The Strid, a very dangerous stretch of water running through a narrow gorge.
We have a choice of places for our lunch break, and near the end a delightful cafe and shop with a beautiful outlook. Please be aware that they only accept card payments.
Come and join us for a walk to remember, 6.5 miles of easy walking with lovely friends. Dave and Carol

Hi, is your walk a circular taking in both sides of the river. I have done the walk twice this year and possibly 3 of us where thinking of just walking to The Strid and back and just strolling around the Castle grounds. Will you be ending at the Derbyshire Arms.

Hi Anne. Ian is dropping us off at the entrance to Bolton Abbey, and picking us up there. Hope this helps

As explained in the description it is a walk inside the grounds, going up on one side and coming back on the Strid side.
