Simon Graham – Bleasdale recce
This is a 6 mile walk at Bleasdale, which is a gentle stroll with no stiles and no real hills. We will stop on the way at Barton Grange where you are free to browse and/or have a drink in the cafe. From there we will be dropped off at Stang Yule to begin the walk. We will walk towards Bleasdale Tower and then turn left at Duckworth Barn to begin a steady walk up a long shallow incline that opens out into a valley from where you can see, ahead and to our right, Fairsnape Fell and Parlick.
The only muddy section is between the farm and the (nearly always) muddy gate area just before we pass the gate to Bleasdale Circle on our left. Shortly after this we reach our lunch stop at Bleasdale Church which has a few benches and, unusually, a clean and functioning toilet.
After lunch we walk downhill past the school and then turn right, walking further downhill before walking up the other side which takes us back to Duckworth Barn and then back to the coach. We will stop in Garstang for toilets and refreshments after the walk.
Fingers crossed for good weather and an enjoyable day walking.
