Chris Wareing – Lydiate recce

Published by admin on

The walk on Saturday the 26th of October walk is the Lydiate Loop.
This is a 51/2 mile, very flat circular walk around the West Lancashire/Merseyside borders, with only 1 stile.
Starting and ending at The Running Horses pub, which is right on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, we soon join the Trans Pennine Trail, a long distance cross country “Green Endeavour” route of some 208 miles.
Turning North this particular section of track is the best path you’ll see, dead straight, level, rest benches, and only recently re-laid.
After our lunch stop we head towards the canal and walk the tow path down to the pub.
PS sorry no cabbages, they’ve all been harvested
PPS Lydiate – where’s that? It’s 3 miles south of Ormskirk
