Chris Wareing – Barrow Bridge recce

Published by admin on

Starting in the model village of Barrow Bridge, a picturesque place, built in early 1800s to house the workers of Dean Mills. Carrying on from here, we have a stroll through Smithills Hall estate and country park, and on into Longworth Clough, a wooded valley leading up to Belmont village and the Black Dog pub.

Distance around 5 miles, mostly flat. Lunch spot Dunscar golf club. Only 2 or 3 stiles and from previous experiences, here and there a “bit” of mud. Enjoy your day, Chris W.
