Simon Graham – Beetham walk, 3rd September 2022

Published by admin on

Unusual weather for our walk at Beetham because it didn’t rain at all. It was good to see 37 people on the coach, including some new faces. After the usual stop at Truckhaven we were dropped off at Beetham to start the walk. After a look around the lovely church we set off towards our first uphill section, and at the top the gradient eased off as we made our way through the woodland. We had a short stop at the Fairy Steps before continuing on towards our lunch spot with it’s view of the valley and estuary.
After lunch we headed downhill then crossed the road to walk along the estuary, having a short stop there as well. We continued on into Dallam Park where a few of our Chinese members demonstrated some Qui Gung, and were joined by a brave member who did her best to copy them. Afterwards I did a short demonstration of Tai Chi, then we set off uphill through the deer park where we were fortunate enough to see some Fallow Deer.
For refreshments at the end the group split up between the Wheatsheaf pub and Beetham Garden Centre, before meeting up at the coach for a relaxing journey back to the Fylde. Only a few pictures because I was leading.
5.7 miles and 665ft of ascent.

Thank you for a lovely walk Simon, a few ups but nothing we couldn’t handle. Nice seeing so many new faces here’s hoping we will see them all on the next walk.
