Simon Graham – Scorton, 13th November 2021

Published by admin on

On a lovely Autumn day we met in Claylands car park for a walk in the Scorton area before lunch in the Stepping Stones restaurant. Descending the slope behind the restaurant we used the bridge to cross the River Wyre, went under the railway and emerged in Scorton village. Turning right then left we began the long climb up Tithe Barn Lane, going under the M6, to reach Higher Lane. A left turn here led us past the top of Snowhill Lane and further on we turned left through a gate onto a very boggy section of field, luckily the fields dried out a bit after that. We went round the farm buildings after admiring the pig, and then made our way back towards The Applestore. We spent a few minutes investigating the concessions there, before heading down Snowhill Lane into Scorton Village and then retracing our steps back to the restaurant for a delicious meal in good company after a 5 mile walk. Thanks Diane.
