A friendly group met up at Bank End with it’s expansive views over Cockersands….and strolled along the embankment to the ruins of Cockersands Abbey founded in 1184. Click here to see the report.
A dull, overcast day resulted in frustratingly few sightings of insects, and the altered route through the reserve meant that we couldn’t get near to Haweswater, which had been the plan.
Walked along to Bank House and back round to where we ‘d parked (ladybirds, Eiders, Lapwings and chicks, a few butterflies, a Reed Bunting and 7 hares). Then on to Glasson Dock (Avocets, Dunlins, Cormorant, Little Egret), a short walk in the woods at Thurnham (micro moth), finishing off with Read more…
